Hi, I am Sidney Kate.<\/p>\n\n

THIS STORY IS MY JOURNEY; THIS STORY IS MY TRUTH.<\/p>\n\n

As Karen Williams would say, this story is \u201cMy Brain Dump\u201d.<\/p>\n\n

Many people have asked me what inspired me to write Way Beyond The GRITS<\/em>? ESPECIALLY in my waning years!<\/p>\n\n

Well, I have many wounds that I need, and have yet, to release. Also, I thought maybe, just maybe, I could help others, like you, identify and learn to face your own truths. And, to help you seek help, if needed, to work through them.<\/p>\n\n

My main intention with my story is to help those who struggle with similar issues in today\u2019s not so normal world. I wish to serve the collective. KNOW that you are not alone!<\/p>\n\n

We all have wounds, \u201cour own pain, our own darkness\u201d. I have a feeling there are many of you out there who want to face your own personal demons—-TELL YOUR OWN STORIES. Some of your personal stories may be very, very tragic. I know it can be painful; but face your shadow–it does not matter how old you are, age is irrelevant. It is never too soon or too late to learn to let go of and grow from any of life\u2019s experiences.<\/p>\n\n

I say, accept ALL of your life: the right and the wrong, the good and the bad, the happy and the sad. And, most of all, accept those behaviors that could be considered your, \u201cWay Beyond The GRITS\u201d.<\/p>\n\n

First, GRITS can be defined in many ways.<\/p>\n\n

I have a \u201cDefinition Page\u201d in the beginning of my book that reveals GRITS is an acronym. An acronym is \u201can abbreviation formed from the initial letters of other words and pronounced as a word.\u201d GRITS can stand for: Girl Raised in The South, Guy Raised in The South, Gentleman Raised In The South or even Godly Revelations In Today\u2019s Society. The list goes on and on\u2026The word \u201cgrits\u201d is defined as \u201ccourage and resolve, strength of character\u201d or as \u201canything seen as necessity, as money or sex\u201d. As most of you may already know, \u201cgrits\u201d is also a Southern breakfast food made from ground maize or hominy.<\/p>\n\n

Our past experiences shape our future decision making. We can learn from these experiences. MY personal past, my life experiences not only entertain but transport history to the present. I was born in the 50s. I grew up in the \u201cDeep South\u201d in a time of immense innovation but with much turbulence around me.<\/p>\n\n

In the coming months, I want to approach and have a conversation about the many relevant subjects, my true stories\u2026the stories I touch on in my book, Way Beyond The GRITS.<\/p>\n\n

I WANT YOU TO BE A PART OF MY JOURNEY\u2026 AND I HOPE YOU WILL MAKE ME A PART OF YOURS.<\/p>\n\n

Life is about connecting with others of all races, genders and ages.<\/p>\n\n

Learn to be authentic, learn to love yourself; be comfortable with what makes you different. Be authentic. Be nice. Help, not hurt others. Share your experiences with someone, maybe even your secrets, and with only with those you have learned you can truly trust! If you do not have this someone, please do not be afraid to share it with a professional, if you find it helps.<\/p>\n\n

Stand in your own integrity; embrace your own individuality. Let go of what does not bring you positivity. Life can be very liberating. Find your own light in the darkness.<\/p>\n\n

CONTINUE ON YOUR OWN PATH.<\/p>\n\n

PLEASE, if nothing else, constantly learn from life\u2019s experiences\u2026turn your words of joy, and of sorrow, into song!<\/p>\n\n
